When you’re planning a wedding, one of the most important considerations you need to consider is where you’re going to have your wedding reception. Not only do you have to consider where you’re going to have it, but you’re also going to want to consider the exteriors and interiors, the decorations, the size of the venue, the number of tables, amongst a whole host of other considerations.
Exteriors/Interiors
What your wedding reception venue looks like on the inside and the outside of the building is incredibly important. You want it to be able to fit the theme of your wedding and if a venue, no matter how much it may be perfect for you in other ways, doesn’t fit this theme, then you should be looking elsewhere. Not just this, but you also want a venue where the second your guests drive up to it, they are instantly blown away by how it looks and instantly want to book that venue for their events.
Decorations
Anyone who has ever tried to organize a wedding will know how integral the decorations are, both during the ceremony and at the reception. They can help to put both the room and the theme together and helps to show your guests how much care and consideration you have put into planning your big day. Every wedding will be different, so you shouldn’t have to worry too much about the decorations you use for your wedding looking too similar to the decorations for somebody else’s wedding. In some cases, the reception venue will provide you with some decorations, such as tying bows around chairs, but you will probably still want to look for other decorations that can help tie the ceremony and reception together. For example, the type of flowers you use at the ceremony you might also want to use at the reception.
Size of the Venue
Of course, one of the most important areas to consider is the size of the venue. If you are planning on holding a large reception with a few hundred people, it’s pointless booking a reception venue that can only hold no more than one hundred people. This is where, if you find a venue you like but it cannot hold all the people you want to invite, you will have to decide between the venue and inviting fewer people or inviting all the people you want to invite but going with a different venue. It’s completely down to you but these are all considerations you need to make before you book anywhere.
Number of Tables
Alongside the size of the venue, you need to consider how many tables you are going to need, which will depend on the number of guests you decide to invite. You will need to know that the venue can host this number of tables, whilst there still is enough room for people to move around. You may also want to look at the size and shape of the tables. Most people seem to go for round tables that can sit between six and eight people, but you may want differently shaped tables that can host more or fewer people than that.
These are all important areas to check with the venue beforehand, so you don’t end up booking it only to be left feeling a little disappointed.
