Florida Man April 26, 2018 – Practices Karate on Swans

ORLANDO, Fla. – Guy from Jacksonville is accused of kicking several swans for “karate practice”.

Multiple witnesses saw the 34-year-old Rocco Mantella at Lake Eola Park attacking the swans Thursday morning around 9:15. According to the records, Mantella kicked two swans in the head and another in its backside “as hard as possible,” and enough to cause the swans to fall to the ground.

One witness claims that Mantella started laughing when he saw her reaction to kicking the swans and continued to harass the animals around him.  “I think it’s really disgraceful that anyone would harm an animal,” Orlando city commissioner Patty Sheehan told WKMG. He also kicked a small duck that appeared to be sleeping, according to the report.

Police weren’t able to find the injured animals that Mantella kicked.

Orlando Police arrested Mantella on a felony aggravated animal cruelty charge; he is now at the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Florida Man April 26, 2020 – Unique Boat-Towing Method Goes Viral

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Facebook video uploaded by Kenneth Keegan went viral for the unique way someone was towing his boat in Pasco County.

In the video, you can hear Keegan joking, “when you have to go fishing in Hudson.”. You can also hear the boat scraping against the ground. And it’s seemingly one-speed bump away from crushing the hood of any car following too closely.

The driver of the boat-towing car didn’t get pulled over or ticketed. However, the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says deputies could have written a couple citations.

The viral video had 100,000 views in just a day. Which became an opportunity to spread awareness about a friend in need of a heart transplant. Keegan added in the caption, “When fishing is LIFE! And your friend needs a new Heart!!” in the viral post.

Florida Man April 26, 2020 – Drove to a Closed Beach Out of Boredom

CLEARWATER, Fla. – This pandemic has gotten everyone bored out of their minds. And this guy from Idaho is no exception. According to the reports, McGarry got bored so he started driving on the beach.

Sand Key Beach and all other Florida beaches are closed due to coronavirus. Even when they’re open, driving on the beaches is not allowed.

This resulted in a police chase. The reports said McGarry drove at speeds of up to 35 miles per hour.

John McGarry was charged with reckless driving, resisting arrest without violence, and driving with a suspended license.
